Of course I had to check it out
I need to increase the seconds I can stand on one leg.
I need to be able to stand on one leg with my eyes closed.
No help was offered for these challenges
The seven areas the article discussed were: Career, Finances, Relationships,
Growth, Mental Health, Physical Health, Environment.
All important. Rarely in sync simultaneously.
What the article did not say is that finding a perfect life balance is difficult.
In fact, it's just about impossible. Life is unpredictable.
So what is important for manageable balance? For me it's flexibility.
And I don't mean being able to touch your toes.
It's being able to accept change. Even, heaven forbid, change your mind.
Knowing when to accept help. When to offer help.
Looking for rays of light in dark clouds.
Flexibility is knowing when to say yes, and when to say no.
When to raise your hand, and when to sit on it.
It's being able to say ... That's different, but I'll try it.
It's saying - what's next?
Some of the best advice I have received:
Listen to your own internal geiger counter. It will keep you in balance.
